Our ethos is one of education. We believe that authentic change takes place following deep-bedded knowledge. We wanted to create something that wasn’t just pretty but purposeful.

The intricacy and the artwork has been designed so that it shows the depth and distinction behind each species. Every time you curl up, we want you to see something new and for change to unfold, imitating the magic of the natural world.

Every piece in our collections comes with a dedicated guidebook to learn about the inspiration and origination of the work. This has been written with accuracy of natural history and authenticity, inspiring curiosity.

Backed by science, designed with soul and educating through art, Arcana is all about alchemy. Fusing the real world with the natural world. Not just appreciating it, but understanding it. Arcana represents the great secret of nature... celebrating it and sharing it.

We promise education, beauty, sustainability to inspire change.

Our Values

We feel passionately about living in an environmentally conscious way, finding the best ways to do things that support our planet.

In developing Arcana, we decided to consciously source manufactures and fabrics that have an ethical and environmentally conscious supply chain.

We have chosen to produce our wares in a way that is least impactful.

You can pay now using your card, Paypal or pay later with Klarna.

We are a small independent British business, and with sustainability
close to our hearts and always on our mind, we keep a small stock in our
studio and make-to-order if demand exceeds our stock. Occasionally we
have pre-order events, so if you want to own your very own Arcana

Fabric

We have chosen organic, recycled or zero waste fabrics for our products, made in the UK or by small family run businesses:

Our blankets are woven from 75% recycled cotton, 20% spun cotton and 5% polyester that is required in the recycled cotton portion to retain its strength. They are made by a small family run business in the Blue Mountains of North Carolina and ordered in batches to reduce the environmental impact of shipping.

Our cushion covers and bags feature 100% organic half panama cotton printed in the UK, alongside recycled and zero waste fabric. The zero waste fabric is created from surplus yarns that are left over from the sampling process or unused in previous collections in a Lancashire weaving mill. They are sewn by an independent seamstress in Hampshire, England.

Alongside our cushion covers, we offer Kapok cushion pads or Recycled hollowfibre cushion pads. These are externally sourced from UK suppliers.

Prints

We have chosen to use 100% cotton rag for our prints. Cotton rag paper is produced from the seeds of cotton plants, which are removed as the first part of the process to make cotton textiles. Cotton rag paper is therefore of very low environmental impact compared to other papers as it is made from a recycled by-product of the textile making process, and no cotton is grown specifically to make cotton (Source: Dr Joe Zammit-Lucia, Green In Print)

Packaging

All of our packaging is at least 70% recycled and all of it is recyclable.

Our shipping boxes are 70% recycled and recyclable. Our tissue paper is 100% recycled and recyclable. All our printed material is printed in the UK on 100% recycled stock and is recyclable. Our ribbons and cords are recycled cotton and recycled sari silk.
